• The process of formation and development

The Department of Analytical chemistry- Quality control was established on 05/12/2017 based on Decision No. 435/ Decision-VNU-HCM. Up to now, the department has been more complete in terms of human resources, with full equipment and chemicals to serve teaching and research.

• Analytical chemistry includes: volumetric analysis methods; measurement of mass; extraction methods; Spectroscopic methods (visible ultraviolet spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy); chromatography methods (thin layer chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography); and some other analytical methods such as capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry…
• Teaching principles of good practice GMP, GLP, GSP and stability research according to the instructions of WHO and the Ministry of Health of Vietnam.
• Teaching professional and technical skills in Pharmacy such as: drug quality management system; standard work; develop and validate qualitative and quantitative analysis methods; appraisal and construction of solubility parameters; appraisal of related impurities. Testing of raw materials and dosage forms of solid (tablets, powders, granules), liquid (injections, infusions, eye drops, nasal drops, oral solutions), semi-solid (emulsions, creams, ointments), testing medicinal materials and dosage forms from medicinal herbs.
• Fields of research

• Research on extracting and isolating substances from medicinal herbs, building fingerprints to identify medicinal herbs.
• Isolate markers from medicinal herbs to establish reference substances.
• Synthesis of pharmaceutical substances and impurities to establish reference substances.
• Research and develop methods for isomer impurity analysis.
• Develop and validate analytical methods on multi-ingredient dosage forms. 
• Develop basic standards and transfer them to pharmaceutical businesses.

1.Xây dựng quy trình định tính định lượng đồng thời một số flavonoid trong Diếp cá trồng ở Nam bộ và Lâm đồng bằng phương pháp HPLC. Tạp chí Kiểm nghiệm Thuốc – Số 1.2023; Tập 21.(79).

2. Xây dựng và thẩm định quy trình định lượng đồng thời adapalen và benzoyl peroxid trong sản phẩm gel bằng phương pháp HPLC.

3. Xây dựng quy trình định lượng đồng thời dextromethorphan hydrobromid và promethazin hydroclorid trong chế phẩm uống bằng phương pháp HPLC.

4. Sử dụng tác nhân khử hoá natri dithionit ứng dụng tổng hợp propacetamol hydroclorid từ phenol.
