In an attempt to help the international medical students and graduates, the VNU-HCM School of Medicine is offering 2 electives: Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Tropical Infectious Diseases.
Electives offered:
- Obstetrics and gynaecology
- Tropical Infectious Diseases
Places Available: 4 each above
Duration: May – July / others also applicable
Open to: Eligible 4th year MD students
Credit: As per elective terms in the MD
Fees and accommodation may be organised by partner universities as per the agreements with VNU-HCM School of Medicine.
OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY (OB&GYN)
Teaching aims
- To introduce students to the physical, mental, ethical, economic, legal, epidemiological, occupational and socio-political aspects of health maintenance throughout a woman’s life cycle, including pregnancy.
- To explore common problems related to a woman’s reproductive system throughout her life cycle, including problems during pregnancy.
- To develop an understanding of significant obstetrical and gynaecological emergencies and their management.
- To build on problem solving skills related to women’s reproductive system and reproductive functions.
- To provide experience and training in counselling women about health maintenance and problems related to their reproductive system.
- To develop effective communication skills and cooperative working relationships with women and the wide range of health care professionals involved in women’s health and disease.
