UHS Brand Identity

On June 3, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 472/QĐ-TTg, officially establishing the University of Health Sciences (UHS) as a member university of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), based on the reorganisation of the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM.

To ensure the consistency and professionalism of UHS’s brand identity, the university has been actively undertaking legal procedures to register intellectual property rights for its brand. This registration includes elements such as font styles, colour schemes, word formats (name), and graphic formats (logo and its components).

The intellectual property rights associated with the UHS brand empower the university to proactively safeguard itself from infringements such as unauthorised copying, counterfeiting, partial or full misuse, and other confusing actions without prior consent from the university.

The UHS brand, formerly known as the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM, has been developed over the past 15 years through the efforts of generations of leaders, staff, students, and alumni. UHS hopes to continue receiving support from UHSers and the community in protecting and promoting its brand.

3. Logo Significance:

The logo is crafted in a contemporary design, with the dominant color of deep blue symbolising reliability and intellectual depth, complemented by green, which signifies vitality and positive prospects.

The iconography incorporates three characters, U, H, and S, deliberately organised to represent the university’s abbreviation. The letter S (Science) is stylised as a DNA strand, integrating harmoniously with the U (University) and H (Health) to form a balanced and cohesive visual structure. The U is further stylised to resemble a stethoscope, a universal symbol associated with the healthcare profession.

Moreover, the stylised letter S is imbued with symbolic elements, evoking imagery of a stack of books, a pen nib, and a flame—representing the pursuit of knowledge, academic achievement, and the aspiration for intellectual advance and innovation.
