On the morning of June 12, the University of Health Sciences – VNU-HCM held the 2024 Pharmacy Career Fair with the theme “Where Passion and Opportunity Meet” at Tran Chi Dao Hall.

This activity was part of a series of events celebrating the 15th anniversary of the School of Medicine, VNU-HCM, and the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. The event appealed the participation of many recruiters, exhibition booths, and nearly 250 pharmacy students.

Accompanying the school at this event were well-known names in the pharmaceutical industry such as Davipharm, Sapharchem, and NOVALAB, …

Speaking at the event, Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Quang, Incharge of the Medical Sector, expressed gratitude to the partners who have been accompanying the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM, now the University of Health Sciences – VNU-HCM, in student activities. The professor stated that in the first academic year, students have already been engaged in practical learning at hospitals through the “Hospital Life” module. In this module, students experience hospital operations, regulations, organizational structures, regimes, and policies. From there, they clearly understand the role of medical staff in hospitals, issues related to science and technology, services, and patient care, and have a clear orientation about medical ethics as a foundation for future development. The annual Career Fair is also intended to give students time to interact with recruiters, further clarifying their future career paths.

At the beginning of the programme, besides learning about various career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry and the importance of identifying their passions and strengths, students had the opportunity to share their reasons for pursuing their current field of study and received answers to additional questions about the industry.

Students, especially those about to graduate, gained an overview and practical insight into the development opportunities of the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam, thus equipping themselves with the necessary knowledge and skills as they prepare to enter the real-world environment through discussions and conversations with guest speakers from pharmaceutical companies supporting the programme.

Drawing from their personal experiences, the speakers also brought positive energy, motivating students to study and conduct scientific research to contribute more to the pharmaceutical industry in the future. Additionally, the event maintained excitement with Mini-games featuring many attractive prizes from the sponsor Davipharm.

The afternoon activity was the “Pharma_Idea Competition” organised by the University of Health Sciences – VNU-HCM in collaboration with SAPHARCHEM and NOVALAB, aimed at creating a playground for pharmacy students passionate about applying science and technology in healthcare. This competition helped students develop themselves and found bold ideas to improve healthcare in Vietnam.

In this competition, student groups presented their ideas in poster form, received feedback, and answered questions from the judges. After scoring and discussion, the judges agreed to award the First, Second, and Third prizes to 06 topics in two fields: Pharmaceutical Science; Pharmaceutical Care and Community Pharmacy.
