This study was presented at the 21st Youth Science and Technology Conference in Health, held at Hanoi Medical University from November 2nd to November 4th, 2022.

In recent years, Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has increasingly grown in Asia, especially in Vietnam. GDM is associated with maternal and fatal complications, and the prevalence may vary from 2.1% to 39% among all pregnancies.
A group of researchers from the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM conducted a prospective cohort study at the Antenatal Care  Department of Tu Du Hospital with a survey sample size of 250 pregnant women from June 2020 to November 2020, and the purpose of this study is to examine the prevalence of gestational diabetes and some related factors at Tu Du Hospital. The results show that the number of pregnant women with gestational diabetes has increased by 32%. Factors associated with gestational diabetes include a high BMI before pregnancy, history of gestational diabetes, and a high intake of yogurt in the diet. This study was published in the VNUHCM Journal of Health Sciences, Vol. 2, No. 2.
