Meeting of the selection committee for the base-level research projects to participate in the Science and Technology Award for Students in 2023

The selection council meeting for research projects to compete in the Science and Technology Awards for Students in 2023 took place at the YA1 Administrative Building on 6th June. Prof. PhD. MD. Dang Van Phuoc, Head of the Medicine Discipline Selection Council, and Prof. PhD. MD. Le Minh Tri, Head of the Pharmacy Discipline Selection Council, presided over the programme.
Student groups submitted their research projects to the council during the selection process. Following feedback and deliberations, the council chose the two best proposals from each subject. There were two projects in the Medicine discipline: “Research on Collagen Modification through Heat on Neural Tumor Tissue in Vietnamese Children” and “Predicting the Severity of COVID-19 Based on Gene Expression in Metabolism and Immunity.” There were also two projects in the Pharmacy discipline: “Application of Nanoformulation Gel Technology for Ibuprofen and Fluconazole in the Treatment of Candida Pharyngitis” and “Formulation of Herbal Lozenges for Cough Treatment Based on Bai Bu Bo Fei Decoction.”
Following today’s evaluation session, it is expected that the top projects will be submitted to participate in the Ministry of Education’s Science and Technology Awards for Students.
This prize seeks to honour remarkable accomplishments and encourage student participation in scientific research and technical development, with the goal of applying them to real-world situations. It helps to improve educational quality, socioeconomic development, and the discovery and development of young scientific talents at higher education institutions. Furthermore, it encourages universities, organisations, and individuals to fund student research efforts.
The prize will be divided into two stages of selection: Round 1 will include project evaluation and preliminary selection, and Round 2 will include project review and final selection.
