School of Medicine – VNUHCM Announces Decisions on Leadership and Management Appointments and Reappointments

On the morning of 31st October, 2023, School of Medicine – VNUHCM held an announcement ceremony, to publicly declare the determinations made regarding the appointment and reappointment of leadership and management officials for a total of 15 individuals. In attendance were Prof. PhD. MD. Dang Van Phuoc, Dean of the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM, alongside Vice Deans and representatives from various faculties, departments, and functional organisations.

Prof. PhD. MD. Dang Van Phuoc, Dean of the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM, handled over the decision to newly appointed management officials.
Prof. PhD. MD. Dang Van Phuoc presented decisions to reappointed managers and managers with extended tenure until retirement age.

This action can be interpreted as a proactive measure taken in the context of human resource planning, with the aim of enhancing and advancing the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM towards its transformation into University of Health Sciences.

Ms. Ha Thi Ngoc Thuy, Deputy Head of the Office of Human Resources Management & Administration, announced appointment and reappointment decisions for management officials.

Previously, 18th October, 2023, the VNUHCM Chancellor issued a formal decision to extend the tenure of MBA. Nguyen Hoang Dung in the position of School of Medicine – VNUHCM Vice Dean.

During the ceremony, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the School of Medicine, Prof. PhD. MD. Dang Van Phuoc, conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the recently appointed and reappointed personnel. Additionally, Professor expressed unwavering confidence in the school members’ ability to leverage their expertise, intellect, unity, and innovation to actively contribute to the ongoing advancement of the School of Medicine in the foreseeable future.

PhD. Pharm. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Management – Pharmaceutical Economics, delivered a speech upon receiving the assignment.

Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Management – Pharmaceutical Economics, as a spokesperson for the newly appointed and re-appointed management officials, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Party Committee, Board of Deans, and essential personnel of the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM for their unwavering trust and the opportunity to pursue growth, while dedicating their abilities and youthful vigor to the continuous development of the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM.

MSc. Specialist Level II Doctor Ly Minh Tung, Deputy Head of the Office of Human Resources Management & Administration, delivered a speech upon receiving the assignment.

MSc. Specialist Level II Doctor Ly Minh Tung, Deputy Head of the Office of Human Resources Management & Administration, acknowledged the appointment as a significant honor accompanied by a weighty responsibility. He emphasised his commitment to exert utmost effort in collaboration with the leadership team, acting as an extended arm of the Board of Deans. Their collective responsibility lied in the transformation of the School of Medicine – VNU-HCM into a prominent institution for health science education both within the nation and the broader region.

Prof. PhD. MD. Dang Van Phuoc recognised and commended lecturers for their significant contributions to scientific research with letters of honor.

During the ceremony, Prof. PhD. MD. Dang Van Phuoc presented a letter of appreciation, recognising the invaluable contributions of the school members in scientific research. Additionally, several individuals were honored for their remarkable achievements: PhD. Pharm. Nguyen Phuoc Vinh, Deputy Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics – Pharmaceutical Industry, received the 2022 Excellence Award for Pharmacy from Académie Nationale de Pharmacie; PhD. Pharm. Vo Thanh Hoa, Deputy Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy – Botany, was awarded the Excellence Award at the 21st Youth Science and Technology Conference in Health, hosted by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Hanoi Medical University; PhD. Nguyen Minh Nam, from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and PhD. Nguyen Minh Hien, Deputy Head of Organic Chemistry – Pharmaceutical Chemistry, secured the Second Prize and Consolation Prize, respectively, at the Young Science Conference: COVID-19 Vaccine Research and Application by the Center of Science and Technology Development for Youth under the Union of Ho Chi Minh City.
